Why Leather?

All about Leather

Leather is one of the oldest known materials and most likely the first natural material that was chemically modified by man.  Leather is a natural product and is made by preserving animal hides and skins by means of tanning. A natural vegetable matter is used in the tanning process.

The tanning causes a permanent preservation of the animal hide by cross-linking the hide proteins. This process converts the hide into leather and makes it resilient to putrefaction even when heated in humid conditions. The tanned hide, following further process stages, can be given many and varied characteristics a truly engineered product for the client's specific application.
